MATCH: South Africa vs United Arab Emirates
DATE: 18 February ,Wednesday
TIME:3:00 PM IST
VENUE: Arun Jaitley Stadium, Central Delhi, India
TOURNAMENT: ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, 2026

Can South Africa extend their winning streak?

  • Sohaib Khan is the only UAE batter to score back to back half centuries in T20 World Cup’s.
  • Aiden Markram is the leading run-scorer for South Africa this World Cup (150 runs in 3 matches).
  • Lungi Ngidi is the leading wicket-taker for South Africa (8 wickets in 3 matches).

South Africa square off against the United Arab Emirates in match 34 of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 on Wednesday, 18th February. The match is slated to be played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi and the scheduled start time is 11:00 AM IST.

Current Standings: South Africa sit at the top of the table in Group D with 6 points in 3 matches, while UAE are at 4th place with 2 points in 3 matches.

Though this match is a dead rubber, South Africa will look to make it four wins in a row and probably give a couple of guys on their bench some game time, while UAE will be aiming to pull off a huge win against the mighty proteas to end their campaign.

South Africa Preview

South Africa continued their dominance in the last match against New Zealand, where they bowled first and restricted New Zealand to a below-par score of 175/7. Marco Jansen set the game at the top, dismissing Seifert, Allen, and Ravindra early inside the first 10 overs, and then Keshav Maharaj dragged the game back in the middle overs with the wicket of Glenn Phillips.

Then, in the run-chase, it was a one-man show from Aiden Markram; he took the attack to the New Zealand bowlers in the powerplay overs, where South Africa scored 83 runs in the first six overs.

Markram brought up his 50 in just 19 balls and he carried on right until the end, remaining unbeaten on 86 runs in 44 balls, while de Kock (20 runs), Rickelton (21 runs), Brevis (21 runs), and David Miller (24* runs) all chipped in.

United Arab Emirates Preview

United Arab Emirates gave Afghanistan a decent fight and took the game down to the last over in their last match at Delhi. Batting first, UAE put on a decent total of 160/9 on the back of a breathtaking, resilient knock from Sohaib Khan, who scored 68 runs in 48 balls, bringing up back-to-back half-centuries.

While Alishan Sharafu added 40 runs in 31 balls, barring these two batters, none of them managed to score past 20 runs, as UAE ended up probably 10–15 runs below par on a good batting track.

Then, they started well with the ball, picking up wickets at regular intervals. Junaid Siddique and Mohammad Arfan were the pick of the bowlers; both picked up two wickets each, but the score wasn’t enough in the end as Afghanistan chased it down in 19.2 overs.

Weather Conditions

On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, Delhi will be mostly cloudy with a high of 26°C and a low of 14°C. Humidity is expected at 45% with a 10% chance of rain and south winds at 10 km/h.

The pitch at Arun Jaitley Stadium has been balanced, favoring both batters and bowlers. The average first-innings score in the two morning matches played at this venue is 158 runs. Fast bowlers have picked up more wickets than spinners, and it has been a two-paced surface where batters must work hard for their runs.

We predict another good contest on a balanced track where 180–185 runs could be par and defendable. If the score is anything below that, the chasing team will fancy their chances.

Toss: To Bowl

Teams bowling first won three of the four matches played at Arun Jaitley Stadium this World Cup, and all three of those wins came in day matches. The surface gets better for batting as the match progresses because it hardens up; therefore, we predict the team that wins the toss will ideally look to bowl first.
