Sri Lanka Women will be hosting India Women and South Africa Women for the Tri-Nation Series 2025 and to mark the commencement of the series, their neighbours – Women in Blue – will square off for the first 50-over fixture on Sunday, April 27 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The hosts would be confident to make a game out of this fixture, whereas, the Indian side is already high on confidence, with some stellar performances at home earlier this year.
Speaking of Harmanpreet Kaur’s India, the side has been having some fantastic displays in the format, where they beat Ireland, New Zealand and the West Indies in last few home series, defeating all of them convincingly. They will be looking forward to this game and would want to avenge their defeat in the Asia Cup which was one of their surprising losses that denied them the continental championship.
Pitch Report
Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium might be a wicket where the batters enjoy batting in the first innings, but it is also a surface which normally gets slower as the game progresses. The spinners tend to get a lot of help on this wicket, which makes this a perfect batting-first pitch for the players where they can set a big total and defend it in the second innings.

SL-W vs IND-W Probable Best Performers
Probable best batter: Smriti Mandhana
Smriti Mandhana has been in incredible form in ODI cricket despite her poor season in the WPL this year. The world-class and stylish left-handed batter would be looking to continue her great form in the 50-over format and will have high hopes in the opening game of the Tri-Series.
Probable best bowler: Inoshi Priyadharshani
The off-spinner was impressive in New Zealand, where she was able to be among the wickets in the T20I series despite the conditions not giving much help to the spinners. Priyadharshani will most likely get a lot of help on turning pitches on her home turf and hopefully get some big wickets in the upcoming game.
