Ireland Women vs Sri Lanka Women Match Prediction, 2nd ODI – Who will win today’s match?
MATCH: Ireland Women vs Sri Lanka Women
DATE: August 18 Sunday
TIME: 10:30 pm IST
VENUE: Civil Service Cricket Club, Stormont, in Belfast
TOURNAMENT: 2nd ODI 2024
Ireland (IRE-W) will look to script history when they take on Sri Lanka (SL-W) in the second ODI on Sunday, August 18, at the Civil Service Cricket Club in Belfast.
Ireland levelled the two-match T20I series earlier this month and have started the ODI campaign on a bright note by winning the first game on Friday, August 16. Those who haven’t been following Irish cricket in recent times might think that they are punching above their weight against the Women’s T20 Asia Cup champions. However, the European side has shown massive improvement of late, especially with the emergence of some young and talented cricketers.
In the first ODI, Sri Lanka posted 260/8 in their 50 overs after Vishmi Gunaratne slammed a 98-ball 101. However, her excellent knock went in vain as Orla Prendergast, who had bagged a three-for with the ball, amassed an unbeaten 122 off 107 balls to take the hosts to a three-wicket win with four balls to spare. Kavisha Dilhari picked up a four-for but that wasn’t enough for the Chamari Athapaththu-led side to secure victory.
Ireland managed to beat Sri Lanka for the first time in ODI cricket and will want to seal the series with a win on Sunday. However, the visitors would be eager to bounce back strongly and keep the series alive.

Probable Best Batter: Orla Prendergast
Orla Prendergast had a phenomenal encounter with the bat and ball in the last game. The 22-year-old is going to be the batter to watch out for in the second ODI. She hit 10 fours and two sixes during her sublime knock in the first game and would be filled with confidence. Irish fans will want her to come good once again on Sunday.
Probable Best Bowler: Kavisha Dilhari
The 23-year-old Kavisha Dilhari will have an important role to play, especially through the middle overs. She has the ability to pick up wickets, something that helps in stopping the flow of runs. Dilhari’s spell is going to be crucial for Sri Lanka.
