MATCH: India Women vs Sri Lanka Women
DATE: December 26,Friday
TIME: 7:00 PM (IST)
VENUE: Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram
TOURNAMENT: 3rd T20I 2025

The series is still well and truly alive, as India Women (IND-W) lock horns with Sri Lanka Women (SL-W) in the third T20I on Friday, December 26 at the Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvanathapuram. After playing the first couple of games in Vizag, teams have now travelled to the state of Kerala, as Thiruvananthapuram will be hosting the remainder of the tour.

Through and through, India Women have easily looked the most dominating side in the ongoing series. In both the matches played so far, the team managed to keep the visitors under their toes, and took an impressive 2-0 lead in the five-match assignment. After Jemimah Rodrigues and Shafali Verma did their job with the bat, it will be interesting to see who steps up for the hosts in the upcoming encounter for the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side.

Sri Lanka Women, on the contrary, have looked very pale and inconsistent in the two games played so far. The Chamari Athapaththu-led unit looked very confident in the second game with the kind of start they got with the bat. However, they lost the plot, courtesy of some brilliant bowling by the Indians, eventually allowing them to post a lot lower than what they would have expected. The third match gives them an opportunity to keep the series alive.

Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram — Pitch Report

Thiruvananthapuram’s Greenfield International Stadium will be hosting a Women’s T20I for the first time on Friday. In the four men’s T20I encounters played here, only three have been full-fledged 20-overs-a-side contests. Of these, a couple of matches were won by the teams batting second. While chasing does look like an easy task at this venue, it can get trickier if a huge target is set by the team batting first. With dew also likely to kick in further into the match, it is a good choice to opt to bowl after winning the toss.

IND W vs SL W Probable Best Performers

Probable Best Batter — Jemimah Rodrigues

Jemimah Rodrigues played a brilliant knock in the series opener in Visakhatpatnam and backed it up with yet another important knock in the second match to put up an important partnership for the second wicket, as the Women in Blue were able to chase down the target with 49 balls to spare. Jemimah has also scored the most number of runs in the series so far, and she would be expected to lift the weight of the side on her shoulders yet again.

In T20 cricket, where conceding less than eight or ten runs in an over is itself an achievement, Vaishnavi Sharma bowled a maiden over during the powerplay in the first T20I. The skilled off-spinner was cheap throughout her four-over spell on Sunday, leaking runs at only 5.00 runs per over, while also trapping the well-set batter Hasini Perera to finish with 4-1-20-1 figures. The Agra-born will look to deliver similarly in the forthcoming match as well.
