TOURNAMENT:2nd ODI 2025
The second ODI of the ongoing three-match series between Pakistan and South Africa will be played at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad on Thursday, November 6. The series-opening clash was secured by Pakistan by a two-wicket margin with as many balls to spare.
The Proteas were bowled out for 263 in 49.1 overs after being put in to bat first. Quinton de Kock and Lhuan-dre Pretorius scored 63 and 57, respectively. There were a couple of 40s from Matthew Breetzke and Corbin Bosch too. Naseem Shah and Abrar Ahmed picked up three wickets apiece.
Salman Ali Agha (62 off 71) built two valuable partnerships with Mohammad Rizwan (55 off 74) and Hussain Talat (22 off 25) as it seemed as if Pakistan will cruise through to victory. They survived a late scare to somehow get across the line in the final over of the match.
Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad Pitch Report
The series-opening clash was the first time an international match was played at the Iqbal Stadium in 17 years. The pitch was not the easiest to bat on, especially as the match progressed. The team winning the toss will be expected to bat first and put up a substantial total on the board.
