IND vs ENG Match Prediction - Who will win today’s 1st ODI match between India and England?

MATCH: India vs England
DATE: February 06,Thursday
TIME:  2 pm (IST)
VENUE: VCA Stadium, Nagpur
TOURNAMENT: 1st ODI 2025

After winning the T20I series by 4-1, India would like to continue their winning momentum in the ODI series. They will take on England in the first ODI at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur on February 6. The series is crucial for both teams in a bid to prepare for the Champions Trophy 2025 which is less than two weeks away.

England going with only one specialist spinner in the form of Adil Rashid backfired them as the bowler had no support from the other end. To control the damage in the 50-over format, they have asked Rehan Ahmed to stay back with the team. Another concern for the teams would be the unavailability of Jasprit Bumrah for India and wicketkeeper batter Jamie Smith for England.

Pitch Report

Vidarbha Cricket Association in Nagpur is a pure batting pitch as the batters relish batting here. The square boundaries are big and it could work in favour of the spinners, who can deceive the batters with the pace.

IND vs ENG Probable Best Performers

Probable Best Batter:

Rohit Sharma is going through a rough patch with the bat and the batter has failed to come among runs in the red-ball format. He will be back in blues for India after over six months and will hope to reclaim the lost form.

Probable Best Bowler:

Mohammed Shami is back in the fray after a long injury layoff. Though he bowled just around five overs in two T20Is, his match fitness will be tested in ODIs and the question will be, can he bowl a 10 overs long spell?
